Twenty-five residents of Barangay Calapi successfully completed the 30-day livelihood skills training program funded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the TUPAD and KABUHAYAN programs. Graduates received starter kits including equipment and raw materials for their chosen livelihood.
The program offered two tracks: food processing (coco sugar, dried fish, and banana chips) and dressmaking. Most of the graduates are women aged 25–55 who are currently unemployed or underemployed.
Kagawad Fernando G. Mendoza (Livelihood Committee) said the barangay will facilitate the registration of micro-enterprises with the DTI and connect graduates to the Catbalogan City public market for product distribution.
