Barangay Calapi has recorded a significant 40% reduction in reported petty crimes — including theft, vandalism, and public disturbance — following the expansion of the barangay tanod patrol schedule from three to six nights per week. Chief Tanod Roberto Fernandez credited the improvement to the additional manpower and the strategic placement of patrol routes covering all eight puroks. The tanod force now has 12 active members divided into two-man teams per shift. "We also installed additional street lights in dark areas and coordinated closely with the PNP Catbalogan for backup during major incidents," Fernandez reported. Punong Barangay Bautista said the barangay allocated an additional ₱45,000 for tanod honoraria and flashlight batteries.
