Barangay Calapi organized its quarterly coastal cleanup drive along the shoreline areas near the fishing community. A total of 500 kilograms of waste — mostly plastic bottles, sachets, and styrofoam — was collected during the half-day activity. The cleanup was spearheaded by Kagawad Jose R. Garcia (Environment Committee) and involved 45 adult volunteers and 30 SK youth members. The collected waste was properly segregated: recyclables were turned over to the junk shop cooperative while residual waste was picked up by the city garbage collection unit. "We do this every quarter to keep our coastline clean and to raise awareness about proper waste disposal," Kag. Garcia explained.
